Free, Free, Free!!!

Assalamu alaykum,
it has been a very busy day for us today.
Early start as baby woke us all up to show us his new little tooth! Mash'Allah!
So we decided to make the most fo the early hours to give a good , deep clean around the house. We then headed out for our Ramadan shopping! So exciting to buy goodies for Ramadan, stuff to share with friends and family. Insh'Allah.
On the list above all, ajwa dates! Mash'Allah so many benefits in those dates and also they were Prophet Muhammad (sallahu alayhe wa sallam) favourite!
Back by lunch time. Kids hungry. Had a quick snack as we left baby with dh and went out again.
This time for a fun but educational day out at our local Fire Station.
We were talking about fire safety for a long time and it has been on my list of projects for a while. This was the right day. We met up with another homeschooler and her kids and enjoyed the day at the Fire station. They had lots going on including 'how to put off a fire when a chip pan goes on fire' and 'cutting a car into two to help the survivors [of an accident] out.
Kids were so taken by those risky manoeuvres that the firefighters were so confident in carrying out.

They had their faces painted and got some free resources. The full day at the Fire station was free, hamdulillah for once nothing to pay!
We left the Fire station in the early afternoon and decided to pay a visit to the local park were a funfair was in full swing and what's more? Lots of free activities for kids including bouncy castles, face painting, make and do hats, painting, and lots more. So, more free! We love free stuff as home educators always pay for everything!
We left late afternoon as tiredness kicked in! Lol.
We were tired but once home...decided to clean the front garden and have the back yard cleaned up. Cut the grass and generally gave a good tidy up, all in preview of Ramadan.
I even washed the carpeted stairs! Phew that was a job!
I am just now sitting down and pondering over our full day out. Thinking how much my kids have retained and about tomorrow, insh'Allah. May Allah help me to be a good example for my kids.Amin.

What is the best way to convince my sister to home educate her baby when he reaches school age? My parents are very much in favour of school and don't think highly of home education.

Assalamu alaykum sister umm salihah,
jazak'Allahu kheir for visiting my blog. It's always so nice to read you! The Fire station organized this open day to the public for the first time. In the past i have tried to organize a visit for my kids, but for safety reasons they don't allow certain age groups into their premises. This day was an excellent way for my kids to learn further about fire safety. hamdulillah.

Hello Riaz, thanks for pasing by and for your comment.
I like to suggest you to try and show proofs that home education is allowed and legally recognized in UK and most of the countries around the world. You can start by gathering more information from the net. Visit http://muslimsandhomeeducation.com and see if you can find some resources to show your parents and sister. Also bear in mind that homeschooling is not for everyone as it requires lots of commitments, patience, dedication, consisteancy and passion for teaching.
Hope this helps.
