Lentils Soup

Assalamu alaykum, this is must be one of my favourite soup ever!

It's health and just pick me up with I am low.

Good for those who you suffering anaemia.

250g ( 9oz ) red lentils1 tin chopped tomatoes or 3 fresh tomatoes, skin removed and chopped3 carrots, peeled and chopped3 sticks of celery, washed and chopped1 large onion, chopped some freshly grated ginger, optional vegetable stock or water pinch of salt freshly ground pepper
add the lentils to cold water and bring to the boil, skimming off the foam
cook gently for 15 minutes, put aside
in the meantime boil all the vegetable together for 20 minutes in the stock or water
add the lentils to the vegetables
blend them all together
add more water or stock if needed
season to taste

Assalam-alaikam,
love the before and after pics. Thanks for the recipe. I just know it wouldn't taste as good if I made it (except being South Asian, I ususally chuck in a load of chilli to hide if something tastes a bit odd)

thanks for your comment and visit!This is an Egyptian Lentils Soup, I forgot to mention it.
I am not Egyptian myself, just love to cook different dishes. I try and if they come nice, hamdulillah.
Try it you may surprise yourself and yes you can add some chillies.;)
